Now the clocks have gone back, it's officially dark at half 4 and starting to get freezing. However tempting it is to just stay indoors drinking wine and watching X Factor - this is not enough of an excuse to become a hermit! Plus everyone knows X Factor isn't as fun after the auditions.
SO, I have put together a short blog on my favourite cold friendly bar in London.
The Roxy, Tottenham Court Road
So why is this the best venue for a Friday after work drinks when it is freezing?
1. Underground = cosy
It's underground so not only is it warm, there's no intermittent blasts of cold air because someone opened the door!
2. Flattering lighting, even when you look like a mole person
Bring undergound also makes it fairly dark which is good for drizzle smudged make up and wind ruined hair.
3. Happy 2 and a 1/2 Hours!
Friday Happy Hour (or 2 and a half hours!) from 5-8.30 where prosecco is £12.50, bottles of wine are £8.50 and it's 2 for 1 on Kroenbourgh, among other things.
4. Snacks on Snacks
Complimentary food with Happy Hour - such as olives, nuts, mini chorizo's, stuffed peppers etc. Basically mini charcuterie boards. Delicious.
